The SF Roadsters “All Star” Band

The SF Roadsters is an all-star band consisting of some of the best players in the SF Bay Area.

It is a blues, funk, fusion and R&R band which also plays music of all genres for soundtracks.

The band consists of Scott Goldberg on guitar and vocals and he is the bandleader. Scott has played with several legendary musicians ranging from players in Steely Dan to Queen, as well as bluegrass greats, jazz and country players. He plays all styles of guitar ranging from ragtime to blues to jazz and everything in between. He has been invited to play in the Jerry Garcia Band shortly after Jerry passed away, but he did not take the gig as he was getting married that year. Scott also has written music for movie soundtracks, including “Full Clip”, a Lions Gate Entertainment film starring “Bustarhyme” and “Exhibit.” Scott co-wrote, rearranged, edited, mixed and mastered the whole soundtrack. Don MacBain gets credit for landing this film for Scott and his co writer, and he played a song on the track and did all the legal work for the film. Scott and Brian Scott Toney were the writers for the film and the main performers. Scott is now involved in three motion picture soundtracks with well known Hollywood icon, Dr. DJ Sinda, the original “Doc Hollywood.” Scott has also recorded and produced several award winning A Capella CDs both professional and collegiate. He was trained to work on A Capella CDs by two-time Grammy award winning producer and engineer, Bill Hare of Bill Hare Productions. Scott works closely with Bill whenever he can and he has worked on projects with Bill for several years now.

On Lead Vocals we feature “Tony Lindsay” also lead singer for “Santana.” Tony is a super talented, and many times, Grammy Award winning vocalist with tremendous range, soul, groove and stage presence. Tony’s going to be joined by a “Top Secret” vocalist, who has several Platinum records to his name. We cannot disclose the name of this individual right now due to non-disclosure agreements. Also on lead vocals is Nate Pruitt, a singer of tremendous talent who has worked with Quincy Jones, Dizzy Gillespie, and many other legendary jazz greats. He has also sung on soundtracks starring Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta. Has a tremendous range and soulful voice along with a unique style of scatting that is almost indistinguishable.  He is a Berklee School of Music Graduate and a mainstay of the local music scene in the south SF bay. He also is a college professor like Scott, and he and Tony teach voice at Scott’s Royal Academy of Sherwood Forest School of Music Technology. In fact all the band teaches there.

On Drums, we have Bryant Mills, an incredibly talented drummer and percussionist who played with John Lee Hooker for many years, and he’s played with several other major acts and players from bands like “Tower of Power”, “Maria Mauldor” as well as many others. He is a super guy who has a heart as big as his groove, and he plays any style you can imagine. He is a session player extraordinaire, and is one of the best “pocket players” ever heard. He also has “chops” like no one else but knows when to use them and when not to.

On Bass is the great David Jones NOT from “The Monkees” :) David, like Scott, has perfect pitch, and also has chops and pocket playing abilities like anyone out there boasting of the same. He and Bryant have played together many times as well as the rest of the crew, and this makes for a super tight rhythm section. David has played on Ray Charles records, and with the famous producer “Narda” and he has also played with players from “Miles Davis’ Band” and “Tower of Power” as well as several other note-able groups. David also composes with Scott on many songs and is Scott’s first call for bass even though Scott plays bass well himself. David has “Chops from H-ll” and he is also one of the foremost “pocket players” ever heard. He is widely sought out in the bay area as a last minute fill in since he can adapt so quickly and seamlessly.

Last, but certainly NOT least, is keyboard player John R. Burr, who like the others, is full of groove, chops and rhythmic feel that makes him a coveted addition. There are very few keyboard players in the world who know how to play with a band who don't overuse their left hand, thus stepping all over the bass player.  John has a musical sense that is incomparable, and he has also played with many well-known artists, including his ex-band-mate, Tom Politzer, sax player for Tower of Power. John has many other credits to his name but it’s obvious by now that everyone in this band is chocked full of talent and they have all played together under various conditions for many years. This will make for a super tight unit and for a band you shouldn’t miss!
